Will you act like a spy for my parents?

I will help with communication. If you want me to hold something confidential, you have that client privilege to do so.

Will there be any homework that has to be completed?

There is no homework as such as it is more about an application of the concepts or tools learnt during a session. For example, after going through Systems & Organisations and one of the agreed action step is to start doing homework by a certain time everyday, then you will go ahead and work on that for the week. At the next session, we will then review what worked and/ or what didn’t work. The whys (then we go into limiting beliefs or motivational values) and then the how to improve the system.

What happens during a coaching session?

Every programme is personalised to the student, and each session unique to the situation that the student is experiencing. However, a typical session would cover:

CHECK-IN: How has been the past week been? How have you been doing?

QUICK FOLLOW UP: Did you manage to follow through on the agreed action steps?

CONCEPT INTRODUCTION. What skills/ tools that can help me in the coming weeks?

ACTION ITEMS. What action items will you agree to use for the upcoming week?

The session can be weekly or fortnightly depending on you. In between sessions though, there will be informal follow-ups. For example, if the action step is to start homework by 4pm everyday, and if agreed, you will send me a message everyday at 4pm to tell me you are starting on your homework.

Would I need to purchase any materials?

No. Materials will be provided. We may have a workbook with introductions to the concepts and exercises/ activities which we will go through together during the sessions. Materials provided can serve as a refresher for you after the 10 sessions are over.

Where are the sessions conducted?

Sessions can be conducted face-to-face in person, over the phone or through video-conferencing (through Zoom which does not require any setting up of accounts or software). Video conferencing is preferable as it allows the session to be help in a space which is comfortable for you. In addition, it cuts down on travelling time.
